Playa S'illot Nude Beach, Mallorca
S'illot (and Playa Son Real), Mallorca - Unofficial
has been regularly used a nudist beach for many years. It is a quiet stretch of beach located directly between the textile beaches of Can Picafort and Playa De Muro. The beach is backed by woods and the sea here is shallow and ideal for children. To find this beach, look for the parking area with the S'illot sign about 1km along the main road from Can Picafort to Alcudia. More detailed directions are in the report from Barney2001 below. Please support the continued use of the beach as a naturist area!
Playa Son Real, another traditional nudist beach in northern Majorca, is a similar beach, but located on the other side of Can Picafort.
S'ILLOT & PLAYA SON REAL NUDE BEACH REPORTS:
For the last few years I have been visiting the Alcudia/Can Picafort area of Majorca. In between Playa De Muro and Can Picafort there is a stretch of beach approx 2km long. It is backed by a natural park (park de Albufera) so is not surrounded by hotels or other holiday buildings, so approx half way between the two habitated areas the beach goes very quiet and has always been a popular naturist area. The only textiles in the past were people walking between the resorts.
Over the last couple of years the naturists seem to be getting less and less (some are dissapearing up into the sand dunes).
This summer I was on the beach with just two other naturists ( a couple of nice German ladies) and had a couple of rude comments from brits walking by, claiming it was wrong to be doing this when families were passing. I explained that it had always been a naturist area, and more so it was legal to be naked anywhere in a public place in Spain, and if they were not comfortable with it, they should walk along the road between the resorts. PLEASE IF YOU ARE GOING TO THE NORTH END OF MAJORCA, MAKE AN EFFORT TO VISIT THIS BEACH AND KEEP IT A NATURIST AREA. ITS EASY TO FIND AND GET TO. You can take a 15 minute walk from either Can Picafort or from the Alcudia end at Playa De Muro (by the Iberostar Hotel, the last hotel before the Albufera Natural park). Or, if you are driving, from the island at Can picafort, head towards alcudia and after approx 1km on the left is a dirt track with a bit of parking and a large sign that says "S'illot" (from Alcudia its on the right approx 1km after the Iberostar Hotel and last traffic lights). The beach is easy to access by driving approx 100m through the woods. After you park here, cross the road and walk through the woods following the trail and wooden boardwalk. At the beach there will be a few textiles, so turn right and walk 20m and you should find a few naturists. The sea is shallow and great for kids, - Barney2001 (November 2007)
