If you follow the directions to Playa Guasimeta and continue walking along the wooden walkway for about 2km and turn sharp right at the end of the airport runway you'll reach Playa Matagorda. Both beaches are fairly clean. Playa Matagorda is the busier of the two and has basic facilities. It's easiest to reach from Matagorda town, northeast of Puerto del Carmen, walking towards the airport from the main beach. |
