unofficial nude beach of Plage
de Tahiti occupies the northern
stretch of Pampelonne Beach in
the Baie de Pampelonne, south
of St Tropez and east of Ramatuelle.
There are also nudists to be found
on a short section of Pampelonne
Beach just south of the 'Liberty
Bar Restaurant'. |

Tahiti is France's most infamous beach, mainly because of all the topless or bottomless action going on. Ever since the days of Brigitte Bardot, this beach has been a favorite of movie stars. Called "notoriously decadent," Plage de Tahiti occupies the north end of the 3 1/2-mile-long Pampellone. Lined with concessions, cafes, and restaurants, it's a strip of golden sand that has long been favored by exhibitionists wearing next to nothing or truly nothing and cruising one another shamelessly. The very expensive Tahiti beach did not appear to be clothes optional but was VERY expensive at 44 Euro for 2 sunbeds and a parasol. The better beach for nude sunbathing is Liberty or Neptune. Also there is a huge public nude beach at Neptune where you don't have to pay for sunbeds. You just bring your own stuff. - rich (2010)

The Plage de Pampellone ain't what it used to be. At Tahiti the majority of women wore tops, and both there and at the adjacent public beach no one was nude. Plage Liberty is gone, replaced by a textile place. Plage Neptune, now affiliated with the FFN, was occupied exclusively by elderly people, except for a few teenagers who were clothed. The adjacent public beach has a bit of nude use, but the majority of occupants were clothed. The times they are a-changing. - michael (2010)
