Plaka beach in Naxos was in the UK Daily Telegraph's top ten european beaches recently, and with good reason.
From Agia Anna, it's golden sands stretch for approximately two miles. The sand shelves gently and safely into beautiful clear and clean water. Backed sporadically by sand dunes there is a dirt track that follows behind the beach for about half of it's length. Development is minimal really with a only few small hotels, official camping grounds and 'rooms for rent'. There are also several beach cafes and tavernas where you can escape the midday sun and relax with some cool drinks and tasty meals.
Although unofficial, naturism starts where the dunes begin and depending on the time of year you go, you could be in the majority, or in the minority (July and August). After the Plaza Beach Hotel (the nicest to stay in Naxos), nudity is always the norm, whatever time of year. Even in the height of the season, this beach is never packed
This beach is great for walking along naked and admiring the views of Paros across the channel separating the two islands. It also enjoys fantastic sunsets, a beautiful way to end the day!
