Tigaki Beach, Kos - Tolerated Nude Beach

Tigaki Beach is located on the Greek island of Kos in the Aegean Sea, about 12km west of Kos town. However, this entire northern coastline of Kos is so deserted that nudism could be practised almost anywhere. This magnificent beach consists of fine golden sand against a clear blue sea and is also backed by sand dunes. TIGAKI NUDE BEACH KOS REPORTS:

  1. The information from our travel agent indicated another (unofficial, tolerated) 'clothes optional' beach near Tigaki in the north. Because of the fresh wind from the north we did leave that beach. The location information was somewhat ambiguous: the Cap'n Barefoot's page points to a location near the salt lake (west of Tigaki) whereas our hostess pointed east of Tigaki 'near a big white ship', presumably a ship on the shore, under construction (we found a big empty hull, painted white). We did not see any visitors on the beach. - Frans C, (October 2005)

On most Greek islands there are plenty of unspoilt and deserted beaches where nudism can be practised discreetly, however you might find Tigaki beach on Kos is the sort of place you're looking for. It's been used by nudists for many years but it's relatively quiet so probably good for first timers (unlike Banana on Skiathos which is much more "in your face"). You won't find it signposted as nudist and my recollection of it is somewhat nicer than the photo of it on the Captain Barefoot site. Kos is a great place for cycling - there's loads of bike hire places - and the village of Tigaki (sometimes Tingaki) is about 20 minutes or so by bike from Kos Town. It's the sort of place you might just stumble upon by bike or even by car. There's quite a nice taverna ideally situated for a drink or snack before or after a visit to the beach. - Rik, (May 2004)
