Mapua Leisure Park, New Zealand - Tolerated Nude Beach

	Mapua Leisure Park has its own clothes-optional beach in the town of Mapau, 20km west of Nelson in the Tasman Bay. The park has a range of accommodation set in 25 acres of native woodland, along with the usual amenities such as a swimming pool, cafe, sauna, tennis courts, golf course, etc. The park can be accessed via the end Toru Street which crosses a causeway to reach the park (see map link below).
UPDATE (Feb 2005): Until recently Mapua Leisure Park used to be the 'place to go' in the Nelson area. However the new American owners want to back away from the togs-optional use the place was founded on. MAPUA LEISURE PARK NUDE BEACH REPORTS:

1. When we came to the Mapua Leisure Park, it was our first, and definitely the last motor camp. As Finns we were used to nudity, so the fact, that Mapua was clothing optional didn't bother us. But the owners had made this Clothing Optional paradise (as described in their leaflet) to a big business. So there were 1400 people, and only maybe seven of them nude on the beach. There were some giggling adolescents on the beach watching the few nudes, and the nature of the motor park came out in a form of barbequing noisy people with their noisy youngsters. We had a Chalet, an A-shaped cabin, with our own kitchen facilities. - Tero and Elina 1997
