Playa los Tusales Nude Beach, Spain
Playa los Tusales, Spain
- Tolerated Nude Beach
SPECIAL FEATURED BEACH REPORT by Steve & Chrissy
After being told by a friend about this beach, we eventually found it and for our first outing in Spain - what a lovely beach! We went there for the first time in the first part of June 2007. The easiest way to find it was on the N332 going from Alicante via Santa Pola and through the other side of La Marina. It was very deceptive finding it and then we realised we had to down a side road where a campsite is posted with large hoarding. We got there and the car park wasn't too full at all. First time we decided to walk over the dunes, the next time we stayed by the shore line and walked that way.
The beach hut is fine, there was a language barrier. We asked for toilet, aseos, servicios and the guy gave us a bottle of water! Anyway there is a portaloo there and it is clean, recommend taking loo roll with you. We noticed every day that the guardia civil and policia local made regular visits which was comforting to see.
The last photo below is taken from the beach hut area.
We found the beach was very clean, people actually used the bins but more are needed as the day wears on. We met and spoke to different nationalities who were pleasant enough. We stayed away from the dunes, and there were gays on the beach who kept themselves to themselves. You can walk all the way down to the breakwater to the right of the car park naked, and even go to the beach hut naked if you want to, no-one bothers you at all.
On the whole we shall be going back there again in July, August and September with friends who are visiting. My wife is not a beach lover by any means, but she felt very comfortable this time around and after reading other people's experiences were very wary of people, but a great time was had by us and friends.

PLAYA LOS TUSALES NUDE BEACH REPORTS:
Leaving Alicante head south on the N332 in the direction of Cartagena. Look for sign to La Marina "urbanisation". Turn LEFT here for La Marina. On reaching the junction with traffic lights (look for the shop with all the statues outside) turn right and follow the road to Cartagena for about 1km. With camp site on left hand side, turn left into Cami del Robello. The road then becomes fenced passing through trees, reaching a parking area close to a beach hut. The textile beach (Robello) is on the L/H side, the playa natura (naturist beach) is on the R/H side about 250m. The naturist beach is about 1km long and is clean white sand. The parking area fills up very early, aim to get there by 10am. - Kenneth M (May 2006)
My partner and I visited the beach june 07 and found the beach fairly easy to find. The beach is split between textile bathers and nudists the nude beach is sign posted with a board showing a cartoon rear which points south. The beach is sandy and the water is lovely to swim in, the beach is not packed and makes a nice change to have soom space to spread out, you do still get people who want to sell you sunglasses or a massage, hats etc, and because it shares with the textile bathers they do tend to trot along the water edge for curiosity shame they dont try removing their bathing suits they might find they like it! We would recommend this to any one who is faily new to nude bathing as we are. - Andy H (June 2007)
I have been a regular user of the Playa Los Tusales for the past 5 years and can tell you the following information about it. Easy to find just off a main road, the N332. Parking is Very very difficult. 2010 will be even more difficult as the local council have decided to grow trees in one of the car parks and also reduce the size of the other car parking areas. I would say there's probably parking for 40 cars right near the beach, other parking is very limited and requires at least a 1Km walk. The beach is gorgeous, lovely and clean, used by individuals, couples and families alike. It's worth avoiding walking in the woods behind the sand dunes though as they seem to be used by gay men as a cruising ground. They're also not particularly fussy about what they get up to so expect to see many things! In the summer there are life guards and a beach bar. -- Rob (2010)
