SPECIAL FEATURED BEACH REPORT by Steve & Chrissy
After being told by a friend about this beach, we eventually found it and for our first outing in Spain - what a lovely beach! We went there for the first time in the first part of June 2007. The easiest way to find it was on the N332 going from Alicante via Santa Pola and through the other side of La Marina. It was very deceptive finding it and then we realised we had to down a side road where a campsite is posted with large hoarding. We got there and the car park wasn't too full at all. First time we decided to walk over the dunes, the next time we stayed by the shore line and walked that way.
The beach hut is fine, there was a language barrier. We asked for toilet, aseos, servicios and the guy gave us a bottle of water! Anyway there is a portaloo there and it is clean, recommend taking loo roll with you. We noticed every day that the guardia civil and policia local made regular visits which was comforting to see.
The last photo below is taken from the beach hut area.
We found the beach was very clean, people actually used the bins but more are needed as the day wears on. We met and spoke to different nationalities who were pleasant enough. We stayed away from the dunes, and there were gays on the beach who kept themselves to themselves. You can walk all the way down to the breakwater to the right of the car park naked, and even go to the beach hut naked if you want to, no-one bothers you at all.
On the whole we shall be going back there again in July, August and September with friends who are visiting. My wife is not a beach lover by any means, but she felt very comfortable this time around and after reading other people's experiences were very wary of people, but a great time was had by us and friends.
