CALETA DEL CONGRIO NUDE BEACH REPORT:

My wife and I have spent several holidays in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote and for us the main attraction are the beaches of the Papagayo peninsula. Our particular favourite is the Caleta del Congrio, the most easterly of the beaches there. The beach is sandy and rather dark in colour. As you approach the beach it is rather narrow and when the tide is in only a few feet lie between the sea and the bottom of the low cliff. However the beach soon opens up into a sweeping curve. It's never too crowded and has a high proportion of naturists using it. This beach often has a pleasant cooling breeze blowing along it so you don't cook in the sun. There are no facilities there which helps create that "getting away from it all" atmosphere. Above are a few photos. - Richard C (March 2006)
